Treasure Hunting & Beachcombing
April 27, 2008 - 5:18pm — GettingOutside
Looking for something fun to do? Why not go on a treasure hunt? Hunting for lost treasure can be as simple as strolling along the beach looking for interesting shells and polished rocks. Or it can take the form of high-tech beachcombing with state-of-the-art metal detectors.
Beach combers search for coins, jewelry, gold and trinkets! There are some simple rules of etiquette as well as rules of law that you may need to follow, but beach combing and treasure hunting can be very surprising and lucrative.
But remember, you can't use metal detectors every where! For example, 36 CFR 2.1(a)(7) prohibits use of metal detectors in all national parks.
