Kids to Conservation
Kids to Conservation
The Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program of the National Park Service has partnered with the University of Nevada Las Vegas Public Lands Institute to launch Kids to Conservation. This website serves as a toolkit for those who hope to involve young people in conservation planning so that they can make a meaningful difference in their communities.
The toolkit uses recreation to engage kids, and the Kids to Conservation website takes the important "next step" of showing kids the critical link between planning and the natural world.
The website is a fabulous resource for kids who already have some interest in the outdoors and want to move toward a lifetime of service. The website also provides information for adults about finding youth to involve in a project, finding the right age youth to work with, funding opportunities, appropriate activities for each age group, and some helpful case studies.
