Swimming
April 27, 2008 - 3:23pm — GettingOutside
Go jump in a lake! Or the ocean, or a river, or a pool. Swimming is great fun. It's also a way to get in shape, stay healthy and maintain your desired level of fitness! On a long, hot summer’s day, there’s nothing quite as refreshing as taking a nice, cool dip in the water.
There’s just so much you can do in the water. From playing games like Marco-Polo, Sharks-n-Minnows, water basketball or volleyball, to diving for treasures at the bottom of the ocean or even a pool, we love the water for all the swimming activities you can do. Plus you can just flat out swim! You can race your friends or join a swim team to get better at swimming or diving!
If you’re interested in diving and snorkeling, distance swimming, water skiing and surfing, lounging around and floating in the pool, playing games, or anything else you can do in the water - the GettingOutside Swimming section is a great place to find new ideas, tips and tricks. And of course, we also love all the things you can do just outside the water too.
So take a moment to share your adventures and favorite places to swim with our GettingOutside Community.
