Summer. The kids are out of school, and it's time for summer vacation and lots of other summer-only activities.

Whether you're headed to the beach, to the shore or to the mountains, the great outdoors is a lot of fun in the summertime. Perhaps, even the only place to be (especially if your air conditioning is broken, you don't have one, or you care enough to be environmentally conscious by conserving energy when it's possible)!

I was born on the Summer Solstice, so it's a season that always seemed to start with a bang. Speaking of bangs, Fourth of July follwed right afterward, with its parades and fireworks. Every summer activity just seemed more vivid.
