Pickle - Baseball Rundown Game
June 2, 2008 - 7:33pm — GettingOutside
Pickle is one of our most cherished baseball games. There are no parents pressuring you, and it’s great exercise.
Pickle is just like a baseball rundown and is a great game for learning base running and ball handling skills for baseball. It's sort of a variation on monkey in the middle but much more fun.
The Rules: There’s two bases, maybe 30 feet apart, depending on the age of the players. Two players man the bases, while the third is a runner. The runner starts in the middle and the basemen try to tag him out. The runner tries to get to base safely. If he makes it, then the person manning that base is in the pickle.
