Holiday Travel Tips
November 25, 2009 - 2:02pm — GettingOutside
With so many people traveling during the holidays, a little forethought and planning can go a long way to making your trip enjoyable. We’ve compiled some tips you can use to make your holiday vacation more fun and stress-free.
Up to 50% OFF Hotels with Orbitz's Winter Hotel Blowout! (Ends 2/14/10)
Book Early. If you want to travel on Thanksgiving, Christmas and/or New Years, you can never really make your plans too early. Now’s the time to plan that trip, even if it is more than a few months away.
Print Your Boarding Pass at Home. Why stand in a line you don’t have to? You can usually print your boarding pass within 24 hours. Check your departure times too! Holidays mean delays.
Think Carry-On-Only! Pack light, and you’ll stay out of the baggage check line. You’ll also be sure to have your essentials with you for the trip. You may need to get your clothes cleaned, but with many airlines charging you for bags, the cost of laundry service is starting to seem like a bargain, anyway.
Tag that Bag. Put colorful address tags on the outside and the inside of all baggage. The color will help you identify your bag quickly. Putting them on the inside helps you identify the bag even if the outside tag gets removed.
Ship Wrapped Presents and Oversized Bags Separately. You can’t carry-on wrapped presents, but why try to carry it at all? Why not ship your golf clubs or musical instruments separately too? The USPS, FedEx and UPS would all love to save you the hassle.
Pay for 3, Play for 5 Deal at Disneyland Resorts on Orbitz! (Exp 3/15/10)
Don’t Drive. If you can take a train or a shuttle, this is typically your best bet.
Arrive at the Airport 2 Hours Early. Even for domestic flights, you’ll want to get there early during the holidays. Avoid the stress of long lines and traffic jams.
Mentally Prepare Yourself. Getting in the right frame of mind for delays, mishaps and other unexpected changes in plans can make the world of difference to you and those around you.
We hope these easy travel tips come in handy.
Have A Happy and Safe Holiday Travel Season!

Consider a Israel Tour
One excellent place to consider during the holidays is israel. A country where the three major religions of the world were created and a place of incredible history, beauty, and wonderful people. I traveled on Holy Land Tours to israel on several occasions and it's truly and experience of a lifetime
