Who didn't have fun playing some form of Hide and Seek? It is a grand old tag game that kids still love to play outside.

The Rules: First a home base is selected. We used to use an old well cover. It was big enough that we could all stand on it. Then one kid counts to a hundred or some other number while the other kids hide.

Then the person who is “it” goes to seek. If the seeker sees a hider she can call out the hider’s name, and they race to get back to the home base. Also, anyone can sneak back to the homebase at anytime and be home free.

If the seeker can’t find a person or two and wants to start the game over, they can say. “Ollie, Ollie Oxen Free.”
