Boating, Boats, Boat Safety
Boats come in all shapes and sizes, but it’s hard not to have a blast when you’re on the water. Canoes, rafts, sailboats, motor boats and more. If you’re looking for some real excitement, get out on the water.
When it comes to boating, you can cruise the open waters in search of new destinations, navigate whitewater rapids, sail in peace and quiet, find fish you’d never catch from the banks, water ski, attend outdoor events on the waterfront or just spend a nice evening enjoying the back and forth water as your boat is moored at the marina.
Along with the possibility for exciting times comes the need for responsibility. A fun day on the water can turn bad quickly if certain boating safety practices aren’t followed. GettingOutside.com is dedicated to providing valuable information on boating and water safety: We aim to have you covered in all types of weather and in whatever kind of boat you captain, sail, paddle or ride!
Our Boating Article, "Lessons At Sea," written by member Gary Kurz, will help you get started or take your boating experience to the next level. We’ll help you find the best boats for your needs. And with our Destinations Section you can find the lakes, reservoirs, rivers, bays and seas where you’ll have the most fun out on the water!
You are also welcome to share your own boating experience, know-how and adventures with our GettingOutside.com Community.

boating safety
Here's some great tips for boating safety. It pays to plan ahead. You can have fun and still be safe. Check it out.
Love Boating
I absolutely love boating! It is just too much fun. I'm glad to know that there are websites like these to help us folks be safe on the waters. Although I have to say that riding in a paddle boat isn't too dangerous. . . .especially on a smooth lake. Of course, if I ever need information about other types of boating, I know just where to go. :)
